James George Tree Surgery, operating in the Newbury, Berkshire area is an independent arboricultural company. Operating since 1999, the company has built up a wide spread client base to include both private clients and local councils.
At the end of 2015, The Creative Donut was asked to help moderise the companies website and advise on any PR changes that they felt the business needed.
Upon instruction the company had a logo they were happy with. In addition their vans and uniform displayed the existing logo. We really liked the colors choice and layout of the logo and they would add warm hues to the web design.
We used these colors to create a number of custom icons that would later represent the ethics and services of the company.
James is highly qualified, in addition to the normal industry standard qualifications, James undertook a degree focusing on his trade. For this reason we wanted to provide some advice for potential customers. Rather than simply cluttering the web design with lots of boring words, we created an infographic. As the old saying goes “a picture is worth a thousand words”.
James had previously had a video produced for the company. However the backing music was so aggressive, it sounded like the soundtrack to The Terminator. Obviously not portraying the friendly, homegrown image we were after. As a solution, we remastered the video with calmer, more inviting sounds.
James George’s project was a really interesting one. Creatively it allowed us to dive into graphic design, master icon manipulation with Photoshop and use some nice autumn colors to convey a warm and friendly company ethic.
